Sometimes music is a prayer and, in the words of Olivier Messiaen, comes reverently close to the Divine, the Holy, the Ineffable…. This programme bears witness to this with some of the loveliest religious pieces from the classical music repertoire, from Bach to Poulenc, in recordings from the greatest musicians: Karajan, Fricsay, Schwarzkopf and Tebladi etc.
