This seminar focus is on medical Qi Gong and meditation techniques from the Daoist southern Dragon Gate sect which offers wonderful tools to transform any one’s practice. The first focus is on rooting to earth. This is an ancient methodology that builds the energetic and physical body from the bottom up. This workshop will introduce attendees to the three pillars of Qi Gong: breath, posture and directed intention through a series of standing and seated meditations. This begins the process of transferring habitual tension from the physical body into the energetic realm. The aim is to purge the body of stagnant energies with the intent of improving physical and mental health. This clearing sets the foundation for deeper engagement.
There is a systematic approach for developing meditation skills. The process awakens the normally dormant energy system via direct accessing the lower abdominal energy centers. This is the foundation that inspires personal growth and change. Each step of a ladder must be mastered before moving ahead to higher centers. This method provides a way to expand awareness of internal energy systems and transform physical health. This alchemical process refines the quality of awareness and develops the nature of consciousness. These techniques are used to waken the energy body so one can engage into empty mind practices with greater ease.
Seated meditation will alternate with standing meditation which can be more easily incorporated into daily life. Some movements exercises will be presented that are relatively simple. The Golden Ball is an eight step exercise that strengthens and Tonifies all organs and meridians. Longer term use can transform the immune system and the energy body. A Qi Gong breathing technique will be introduced called the microcosmic cycle which regulates yin and yang energies in the body. This incorporates a lower abdominal focus that is fundamental to all body-mind disciplines.
This seminar will meet on April 30th, 2016 at 11:00am and end at 2:00pm. There is a suggested donation.
